Give Your Dog Great Exercise in Our Dog Park

At Town Hall Terrace, we know how important your animal companion is. A happy animal is a healthy animal! As a pet-friendly complex, we believed that we should create a unique amenity to our tenants which is why our dog exercise park is designed to give our furry tenants a place to jump and play!

Dog Exercise ParkA well-exercised dog is a happy dog. We know it can be challenging for your dog to get the proper amount of exercise with your busy schedule, but with a dog park conveniently located right outside your door, it’s never been easier.

Without the proper amount of exercise, your dog could be at risk for canine obesity which, as like with humans, canine obesity can lead to health problems. These types of problems include joint pain, skin issues, heart issues and many more. We are not a veterinarian, nor claim to be a dog expert. However, we felt that we should provide our occupants with a unique experience that would not only benefit them, but also their four-legged family members.

The Benefits of a Dog Park Right Outside Your Door

The dog park allows for a safe, fenced in area that will protect your pooch from bolting into traffic. Having your pooch bolt because he or she is scared or is being disobedient can be terrifying. However, at our dog park your pooch can run to their heart’s content! It is a safe space for dogs and their owners to sit and relax.

Dogs are supposed to be active, and are ingrained with a desire to run and chase and play after things. You cannot fight their inner nature. It is better to give them an outlet to express themselves. With a smaller space, dogs can have a tendency to act out, and may even become destructive. However, if your canine is regularly stimulated with endorphins and tired out from play, they will become calmer. Your dog will have tons of fun and you will be able to relax knowing that your pet has the option to get out of your home.

A tired dog is a happy dog! Spending days at the dog park will keep your dog physically active and socialized with other dogs. Interaction with other dogs and owners is important in keeping a dog satisfied, plus a tired dog is less likely to bark and distract other tenants. Everyone wins!

Socializing with You and Your Dog

Our dog park is a great place for tenants to socialize and meet other animal lovers. You and your companion can meet other dogs, enjoy the fresh air and make new friends. If you have any questions about our dog exercise park or any other amenities we offer, or want to learn more about our current open units, give us a call today at 716-773-2788.

5 Ways to be a Good Apartment Neighbor

Living in an apartment complex or community has plenty of perks, but it can also sometimes be a little frustrating with having neighbors close by. As for someone who is living in an apartment or looking to move into another apartment, here are some tips on how to be a polite and respectful neighbor while living in a complex.Apartment community set back along with trees

Keep the Noise to a Minimum

This is an important one. Being a noisy neighbor can be frustrating for others because not everyone enjoys noise at all hours of the day. This doesn’t mean that you have to be as silent as a mouse, but you should respect your other neighbors by keeping the noise to a minimum.

Follow the Community’s Rules

If your apartment community has rules and guidelines, you should stick to them and follow them. You never want to push the limit of not obeying rules in your community because it can give you a bad rep.

Be Friendly to Your Neighbors

Not everyone is outgoing, especially in an apartment building or community. You don’t have to be your neighbors’ best friend, but you should show them respect and welcome them when you see them. This can just include a friendly hello when you see them around.

Keep the Inside and Outside of Your Place Clean

Being a clean neighbor is important. Nobody enjoys a sloppy neighbor in an apartment building. Make sure to take out your trash, keep the outside of your apartment looking nice, and remember to keep it smelling clean.

Get to Know Your Neighbors

This isn’t a required thing to do, but it can be very helpful. If you’re an outgoing person who likes to meet new people, try making friendly conversations with your neighbors. This shows that you are friendly and respectful in the community. Not everyone is comfortable in doing this, so if you’re not, then don’t force an entire conversation.

Living in a patio home or apartment community is very beneficial. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing community to be a part of, reach out to Town Hall Terrace today. We can provide you with apartments, patio homes, or townhomes for rent. Located a short drive from the city of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, we’re in the perfect location. Decluttering Your Apartment Can Help Organize Your Life

Apartment living can be a tough situation, especially when it comes to storage space. Not every apartment complex allows you to have the necessary space for all your belongings, so it can be difficult to keep many things inside the apartment. Some people resort to renting out storage units, but this is just another added expense to your budget.

One way to help you feel comfortable and not overwhelmed by your belongings in an apartment is to start eliminating unnecessary items and decluttering.Decluttering and cleaning apartment for more space

Here are some tips on how to declutter your belongings for a cleaner and less-crowded apartment:

Decluttering Your Closet

It can be tough to part with some of your favorite clothes, but you must look at all the clothes you don’t wear. One of the best things to do is to go through all your clothes for every season. Determine which clothes you don’t ever wear or haven’t worn in several years and get the courage to donate, sell, or give them away. This can help you organize your closet space and potentially make room for storing more important items.

Determine Your Hobbies

If you’re a person who has hobbies that require materials and items, take a look at how necessary those items are. Now, this can be different for every person. Who knows? You may not have any hobbies that require materials to be stored at your apartment. However, if you have a hobby such as playing an instrument, painting/drawing, etc., it’s important to determine how much material you use for those specific hobbies. Get rid of all the unused materials to help organize your apartment.

Invest in Storage Containers

Organizing your belongings almost always helps to organize your daily life. When you purchase storage containers and bins, you can easily store items that you do not use on the regular under your bed and in your closet space.

Clean, Clean, Clean

When you dedicate at least one day per week to cleaning your apartment, your living space with feel much less crowded. This chore can boost your mental health, keep yourself organized, and provide you with a space you can be proud of.

Spring Cleaning is Coming Up

Spring is right around the corner, we hope! Before we can celebrate the season, it’s time to get serious about one thing: spring cleaning. Here are five must-dos for you to tackle as part of your spring-cleaning list!

Pillows

Did you know that you’re supposed to be washing the whole pillow and not just the case? Think about it: our pillows are the collecting ground for dust, drool and pet dander, if you let your dog or cat sleep on the bed. This spring, toss your pillows in the laundry! If you haven’t replaced your pillows in the last few years, consider tossing them and starting fresh.

Vacuum Under FurnitureUnder the Furniture

When’s the last time you vacuumed under the couch? No, not just under the lip where the edge of the vacuum fits, but under the entire thing. That means moving the couch and vacuuming up all the dust and grime (and probably at least a few crumbs from snacks) that has accumulated beneath over the years. You should also flip your cushions upside down and vacuum up any junk that may have fallen into the couch or chair.

Walls

Chances are there’s at least one lightly colored wall in your home. Have you inspected it closely lately? Notice anything, like dirt and dust? Don’t forget to vacuum or sweep the floor after you dust the walls since you’ll be disturbing a lot of dust that will end up falling onto the floor!

Appliances

When’s the last time you gave your fridge a thorough cleaning? If the broccoli that you cooked last month shed a few bits in your crisper, chances are good that those little leftovers have started to go bad. At least once a year, take everything out of your fridge and scrub and disinfect the whole thing. Don’t overlook shelving and drawers, either. Not only do these need a cleaning, but they also are often home to three-year old salad dressings or long-expired condiments that should find a new home in your trash can.

Potted Plants

If you have any plants in your home, the spring is a good time to check them and see if they need to be repotted or need new, fresh soil added. Spring is the season of green and blooming, so there’s no better time to check on your greenery. Dust and dirt can also accumulate on your plants, so give them a rinse – either by hand or by letting them sit for a few minutes in the shower. Not only will this keep them clean, but it can also help deter insects, too.

If your spring cleaning also coincides with your time to move or renew your lease, why not check out the units at Town Hall Terrace? Our apartments, townhomes and patio homes are spacious and modern and offer plenty of space. Located on Grand Island, we’re a quick drive to and from anywhere – Niagara Falls, downtown Buffalo and other locations throughout Western New York. Learn more by calling us today at 716-773-2788 or apply for tenancy online now.
